Genius Beats Fear is CrossBorder Solutions’ innovative narrative podcast, blending audio storytelling with history to cast a different light on heroes who have changed the world for the better by constantly asking, “At what personal cost?”

While America was reeling in the grips of polio, behind the scenes, one man was already fighting it: Dr. Jonas Salk.

Third Eye Weekly (2012-14)

In 2012, I pitched an hour long weekly podcast to BreakThru Radio that blended spoken word, underground music, and under-reported news. Imagine a more conversation-based ‘This American Life’ with a two drink minimum.

Two years and a quarter million subscribers later, our show regularly featured wide-ranging guests from Professor Noam Chomsky to Andrew W.K. by providing our audience a truly alternative outlet to the misinformation chambers in mainstream and social media.

Here I am talking with Malcolm Gladwell about his 2014 book, David & Goliath:

The Spare Minute Podcast (2016-17)

Before relaunching as the amazingly successful Headliner app platform for audio content creators, SpareMin was a social media startup that had the radical idea of putting interview and conversation audio on a newsfeed.

From 2016-17, I interviewed key media and cultural figures as CNN’s Dylan Byers and Bloomberg’s Eli Blake, documenting differing perspectives from across America and around the globe during the transformative 2016 US presidential elections.

The Spare Minute podcast was comprised of highlights from these conversations every week. You can find an episode featuring Eli and I talking about President Obama’s last days in office below:

World Policy On Air (2015-2018)

Hosted by 30-year terrestrial radio news veteran and former ‘For Your Ears Only’ anchor David Alpern, ‘World Policy On Air’ brought the pages of the World Policy Journal to life through deep dive interviews with respected international journalists and academics featured in the quarterly magazine.

Thanks to the podcast format, our program never sacrificed comprehensive coverage of its subjects nor in providing unique insight on international public policy. All the while, we furnished budget-friendly content that proved far more interactive on social media than static web-based articles.

Here’s David and Sam Winter-Levy of Foreign Affiars in May 2016, discussing the likely impact of “machine super-intelligence” on the international stage.

”Make it happen, keep it snappin’!”

Did we mention Matt’s a musician?

. . . yeah, it’s a little weird.
